  • The promotional material is distributed among hospitals, university medical centres and urologists in private practices.

  • Four events will take place in different parts of the country, including exhibition of a prostate model which is 5 meters long and hollow, so visitors can walk in. There will be discussions between urologists and patients on stage, and in Vienna blood can be given for PSA testing.

Programme Italy
 
  • A special event is being organised to celebrate the centenary of the Association in Rome from 22-28 September 2008. This meeting will surely be a unique scientific event with a fantastic social programme. The EAU material will be used.
  • A new campaign called "100 Cities Project" was organised from 14-22 April 2008 in commemoration of SIU's constitution day. Two SIU campers travelled around Italy and stopped in 100 Italian cities where they parked for a short period. This initiative was meant to boost the image of Italian Urologists among the general public.

  • Central event in Oslo: the world's largest prostate model will be exhibited at the Rikshospitalet from 15-19 September. Guided tours are organised during the day and lectures will be held at the Rikshospitalet in the afternoons.

  • A special edition of the Dutch magazine for urology is published.


  • Urology Week 2008 highlighted prostate conditions, incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Therefore the Dutch Journal of Urology has issued 2 special editions on these specific topics. In these special editions nine Dutch urologists with special expertise in the field of andrological and functional urology and experts from closely related specialties have given their views on current and future developments in their fields. These special editions were sent to a broad audience; except urologists, also Dutch GPs and Flemish urologists received a copy.

  • Small meetings to inform the public about urological diseases are organized in cooperation with the municipalities in Turkey.
  • Brochures and posters are published and distributed among the public.
  • Announcements and articles about Urology Week are published in the Turkish journals and newspapers.
  • TV advertisements are broadcasted to underline Urology Week.
  • Interviews on Turkish radio channels are given.
Programme Ukraine
 
  • Two specialised symposiums which will be held in Kiev, Institute of Urology Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, on 15.09.08 and 18.09.08. The focus will be on the main urological disorders and will be suitable and comprehensive not only for urologists, but for GPs, regional medical specialists, social workers and patients as well.
  • On the 16th, 17th, and 19th of September we'll have 3 forums: "Patients", "Pharmaceutical companies representatives" and "Media representatives".
  • All advertising, prophylaxis and educational information will be based on EAU materials and recommendations.
