As a patient with a prostate condition, no-one can better understand the nature of the affliction. Don’t hesitate to talk to people in your surroundings, like your family. You can also consider taking part in some of the Urology Week events, and share the story of your battle with the disease. This can affect the way people look at prostate conditions, and also support other patients, letting them know they’re not alone.

The media are a vital cog in Urology Week. Coverage of specific local events, or the Europe-wide awareness campaign in general can help us reach a much wider audience for this worthwhile cause. Visit a clinic, or find out about local events and report on them. Consider writing a series of smaller articles throughout the week, covering the events as they unfold, or create a series of interviews with people affected by or people involved in the treatment of prostate conditions: from the patient, to the nurse and the urologist.
Take a look at our Press page for information on the EAU and logos.
Addressing the general public and raising awareness is a large part of Urology Week. Hopefully this site will have informed you on the efforts made by the urological community to bring awareness to the field in general, and prostate conditions in particular. If you feel particularly inspired to contribute, you can always volunteer to help out any efforts in your area. Get in touch with your national urological organisation to find out about local initiatives.
