Urology Week is an initiative of the European Association of Urology, which brings together national urological societies, urology practitioners, urology nurses and patient groups with the aim to create awareness of urological conditions among the general public.
Every year, various educational and media events take place during this week throughout Europe. In 2010, the campaign united over 30 events under its umbrella, engaging thousands of people and creating awareness about urology as a specialty, bringing understanding about the role of a urologist, and drawing attention to the fight against such serious conditions as prostate cancer.
The success of last year’s campaign owes to the enthusiastic participation and dedication of our colleagues and supporters, and not only from Europe, but also from other parts of the world – such as Iran and Pakistan. Urology Week 2010 received much media coverage and it’s a great step towards a larger and a more impactful campaign this year.
Whether you are a urologist, a nurse, a patient or a supporter of this important cause – we invite you to join this year’s Urology Week and organise an event in your home town. However large or small, every effort counts! This website has many tips and helpful materials to get you started, and please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information!
